In Character Information
character name: Cedric Grey
Fandom: Covington Cross
Timeline: Post-series
character's age: Late-teens -> Early Twenties. 21 or 22 depending on actor.
powers, skills, pets and equipment: Cedric is adept at swordplay and archery, but by no means an expert. He can hold his own in a battle, fight well in armour and out. He is also a decent horse rider, being the son of a nobleman and knight.
Having studied, in part, to be a cleric at a young age, he is knowledgeable of the Catholic Church's teachings and a devout follower, as many people of England were.
Scorched Powers:
Visions: When touching certain objects, Cedric may gain a glimpse into the past or future of the object or owner.
Healing: The ability to heal through touch. Tied directly to his feelings and will only work on people he likes.
Equipment:
1x Longsword, bearing the crest of the Grey family of Covington Cross
canon history: Cedric was born the youngest son of Sir Thomas Grey and Lady Anne Grey of Covington Cross. As it was generally the first-born's duty to carry on the family name, Cedric was often passed over for important family business, a fact which often frustrated him.
Sir Thomas promised his wife that, since her first son was destined for the Crusades, and may rightly perish, that Cedric be destined for the Church as a cleric, so he, and the rest of the family, may be spared the horrors of fighting and death in the wars. Cedric was taught by the resident friar at Covington Cross, but as he grew older, he lusted after the things the Church could not give, often sneaking off, locking the friar in rooms and going to practice swordplay, or spend time with women.
He participated in a Knighting tournament for squires, in the hopes of showing his family he was capable of being a knight, capable of defending himelf. He ultimately was beaten in the melee, forcing his sister, Eleanor to take his place.
Afterwards, he was sent on an errand by his father to secure a wood contract with another nobleman, but ended up getting distracted and robbed, proving him to be a bit unreliable.
He enters a relationship with Baron John Mullen's daughter, Alexandra, and, with her assistance, manages to save Covington Cross from being sold on by Mullins to a French actor.
A short while after this, he takes it upon himself to help some plague victims, one of whom he'd fallen in love with, despite Baron Mullens hounding them and Sir Thomas denying them sanctuary. He helps them to a Carmelite Monastery.
He continues to help out with his family in the troubles they face.
